Anchorage resident Heather J. Lasut, 20, died Feb. 2 at her home. A funeral service was held at Anchorage Funeral Home with a visitation. Pastors Bryce Ray and Robert Day officiated.
She was born June 24, 1974, in Windbur, Pa. Ms. Lasut came to Alaska with her family in 1990 from Charlotte, N.C. She graduated from Dimond High School in 1993. She also attended Alliance Bible Church. Ms. Lasut enjoyed children, pets, staying home and watching movies. Her family said, "She will be missed by her community and the people that touched her life. She made many friends after moving to Alaska."
Ms. Lasut is survived by her parents, Tom and Emily Lasut; her fiance and the father of her daughter, Barry Selby; her daughter, Latosha Selby; sister, Kerri Petrie; brother, Davin Lasut, all of Anchorage; paternal grandparents, Tom and Fern Lasut of Windbur, Pa.; maternal grandparents, John and Isabelle Boozier of Central City, Pa., and great-grandmother, Bessie Orris of Central City, Pa. Memorial contributions should be made to the Epilepsy Society, P.O. Box 92933, Anchorage, AK 99509. Arrangements were handled by Anchorage Funeral Home.
