MOSCOW - Horace P. Cates, 60, died Wednesday night at a Skowhegan hospital following a long illness.
He was born at Moscow, March 3 1907, the son of Miles and Melvina Cates. He was a lifelong resident of Moscow.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Evelyn Pierpont Cates of Moscow; 10 sons, Horace, Bernard, Miles, Allen, Joseph, Stanley, Linwood, Frederick, Ernold and Raymond Cates, all of Moscow; three daughters, Mrs. James Dionne of Madison, Miss Ruby Cates and Miss Alice Cates, both of Moscow; four brothers, Frank, Lawrence, Lyman and Ernest Cates, all of Moscow; one sisters, Mrs. Bessie Mullen of Oakland; 11 grandchildren.
The body will be placed in the Bingham Receiving Vault for Spring burial. Friends may call at the Giberson Funeral Home today, from 2 to 4 p.m., and from 7 to 9 p.m.
