After Persis died on 31 Dec. 1662, 5 days after the birth of their 12th child, he married on 26 March 1663 Anna (__) the recent widow of John Allen. She was born about 1605. Anna had no children with Michael Pierce. Captain Michael Pierce's parents are NOT KNOWN.

Capt. Pierce wrote his will on 15 Jan 1675/6, naming the following children:
Abigail[Holbrook], Elizabeth, Sarah, Ephraim, Anna, Mary[Holbrook], Benjamin, Abiah, John, Ruth, and Persis 2. (His first daughter, also named Persis, probably died shortly after birth & baptism in 1646.)

Pierce, of Scituate, Mass, had been appointed Captain in 1669 by the colony court, having been an Ensign under Capt. Miles Standish. The War was named for Philip, the son of Massasoit, chief of the Wampanoag Indians.
Captain Michael Pierce was in command of a company of 52 men and some friendly Indians who met up with a large party of Narragansett warriors. Pierce's men were ambushed and most were killed.
