per email received 3/3/13: Emma Gates was Emma Elizabeth Miller Gates wife of Sheridan Alexander Gates.
They were the parents of Ruth & Merril Gates. I am not 100 percent certain on Jesse Gates but its possible that is their daugter in law that was married to thier son Chester. This is my brother in law's family.
