Doris C. Bakken, 60, a long-time Bremerton resident, died Thursday at Messenger House on Bainbridge Island, where she resided the past few months.
She was born April 22, 1927, in Omemee, North Dakota, and moved here from that state in 1956.
She married her husband Otis in January 1956 in Bremerton. He died nine years ago.
Mrs. Bakken was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
She is survived by three sisters, brother, and her mother, Alice Jenson of Rugby, North Dakota.
A funeral service for Mrs. Bakken will be Tuesday at 1pm at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
