Jerry worked for Ogden City for 30 years as an assistant director of Parks and Cemetery Operations. He was a member of the Ogden Pioneer Days committee and worked as the operations manager for the Pioneer Days Rodeo.
Jerry loved to golf and hit his first hole in one three weeks ago at the Riverside Golf Course. He enjoyed working in his shop rebuilding hot rods with his son, Jason. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved his animals.
Jerry was a very devoted husband, father and son. He has been a 14 year caregiver of his wife, Gloria and a life long caregiver of his mother, Clara.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Gloria; son Jason McKean of Roy; daughter Heidi (Jeremy) Tilton of Las Vegas; two grandchildren, Alexis and Ashton Tilton; his mother, Clara (Clair Nelson) Sanders; a sister Linda Sandall of Sandy; many caring nieces, nephews and cousins; and by his golfing buddy, Jack (Pat) Singleton. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Judy Whitlock.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., where friends may call on Tuesday, May 11, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 12, prior to the service from 9:40 – 10:40 a.m.
