Husband of Myrtice Evelyn Williams Ellis

Mr. William James "Bill" Ellis age 89 of Highway 31 Castleberry, Alabama, passed away Thursday evening June 16, 2011 at a local hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Ellis was a native and life-long resident of Castleberry, Alabama and was a member of the Castleberry United Methodist Church. He was a member of the state and county cattleman's association, Alabama Forestry Association, American Tree Farmer's Association, Buffington Cemetery Trust, and served 10 years on the Conecuh County Board of Education. He was a farmer of catfish, cattle, trees and other crops. Mr. Ellis was an avid hunter and was a United States Navy veteran serving in WWII. He was a 1941 graduate of Conecuh County High School.
Survivors - Wife of 53 years - Mrs. Myrtice Williams Ellis of Castleberry, Alabama; Son - William James "Jim" (Lisa) Ellis II of Paducah, Kentucky; Daughter - Evelyn (Keith) Pate of Pike Road, Alabama; Brother - John (Annie Jean) Ellis of Bay Minette, Alabama; 2 Sisters - Corine Weaver of Mobile, Alabama; Julia (Rudolph) Williams of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; 8 Grandchildren - Nicholas, Noah, Eli and Emaline Ellis of Homerville, Georgia; Bethany Pate of Pike Road, Alabama; Hannah, Amanda and Olivia Ellis of Paducah, Kentucky.
Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his son, Paul Solomon Ellis.
Visitation will be held Monday evening June 20, 2011 from 6 until 8 PM at Craver's Funeral Home Inc,. Brewton, Alabama.
Funeral services for Mr. William James "Bill" Ellis are scheduled for Tuesday morning June 21, 2011 at 10AM at Craver's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Godbee & Rev. Tim Boggs offciating. Interment will follow in Buffington Cemetery in Castleberry, Alabama with CRAVER'S FUNERAL HOME INC OF BREWTON DIRECTING.
