He was employed for over 30 years with the Fort Loudoun Electric Corporation and was one of the first linemen and also a general foreman.
He is survived by wife, Ruby Cardin Layman, Madisonville; daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leon (Brenda) Andy, Jr.; grandsons, Leo III and James Layman Andy, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; sister, Mrs. Tip Snapp, Sevierville.
The body was at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, where the family received friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by Masonic services. Funeral services were held 4 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale's Chapel with Rev. Charles Burnette and Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Interment was in Haven Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family asks that contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church of Madisonville or the American Heart Association.
