She was an avid reader, a lover of classical music and animals and enjoyed watching birds from her window. When her health permitted, she enjoyed crafting.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Pat and Dale Schawitsch of Pinehurst; her sisters, Elaine Wilderson (Mrs. Eric) of Towson, Md., and Seven Lakes, and Ellen Sidbury (Mrs. Tom) of Annandale, N.J.; nephews Sean and Ben Sidbury, upon whom she doted; her grandmother, Virginia Burleson; and uncles and aunts Clay and Jackie Burleson (her special pals) and Gary and Annette Burleson, all of Salisbury.
She was the granddaughter of the late Cecil Burleson; a daughter of the late Wayne Whitman; and granddaughter of the late John and Marie Whitman, all of Salisbury.
