Treva Ilene Wallace
Dec. 20, 1918 -- May 17, 2010
Treva Ilene Wallace, 91, of Corvallis died Monday, May 17, 2010, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 20, 1918, in Barons, Alberta, Canada, she was the daughter of William and Mary Ann Tanner Bloor. When Treva was 2 and a half years old, the family came to Creston, British Columbia, Canada, in a covered wagon, crossing the Rocky Mountains. When she was 6, they moved to Portland, and eventually to the Bellfountain area.
She married Harrison Wallace on July 3, 1937, in Kelso, Wash. They had attended Bellfountain High School together, but Harry remembers that the very first time he noticed Treva was when she was in the fifth grade.
The couple had three children, daughter Treva Janene and twins Mary Ellen and Billy Allen. Treva loved being a homemaker. She and Harry have been members of the Nazarene Church in Corvallis since 1952, where she enjoyed teaching children's Sunday school and singing. She also enjoyed caring for her family and friends, playing cards, and weekly visits with her sister and brother-in-law.
Treva was preceded in death by two of her children, Billy Allen, who died in an accident in May of 1951, and Mary Ellen, who died in November of 2009. She is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Harrison Wallace; her daughter Treva Janene Milis of Palm Desert, Calif.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Life Community Church (formerly Church of the Nazarene) in Corvallis, followed by a graveside service at Bellfountain Cemetery. Pastor Karen Bull will officiate.
The family suggests memorial donations in Treva's name be directed to Life Community Church or a charity of choice in care of McHenry Funeral Home, 206 N.W. Fifth St., Corvallis, OR 97330. Online condolences may be made via www.mchenryfuneralhome.com.
