Earl L. Davis, 69, passed away May 13, 2010 at Akron City Hospital.
Born in Montgomery, Ala., he had lived in this community for 2-1/2 months. He served 45 years in the U.S. Army and was retired from the Department of Defense.
Preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Jimmie Lee Davis, he is survived by his son, Russell (Annie) Thedford of Hampton, Ga.; daughters, Dorothy Davis Ferguson and Sharon Denise Davis, both of Akron and Kahdra Davis of Montgomery, Ala.; brothers, Anthony Sams of New York and Darrius Davis of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Theresa Davis of Birmingham, Ala., Ada Fulmore of Brooklyn, N.Y., Lela Mae Pettaway of Montgomery, Ala., and Pearlice (Charles) Diggs of California; a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
