WINDER, GA. - Jean Elizabeth Calhoun, 84, of Winder died of respiratory failure Thursday, May 20, 2010.
Mrs. Calhoun was born in Sanford, FL and was a resident of Lakeland, FL before moving to Winder five years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Flossie Ellis Hall, husband of 64 years, Julian Thurman Calhoun, Sr., and two sons, Julian Thurman Calhoun, Jr., and Samuel Patrick Calhoun. She was retired from Walgreen's Pharmacy, Lakeland.
Survivors include a son, Glenn Calhoun, Lakeland, FL; three daughters, Janice Hester, Winder, Betty (Jim) Kemp, Merritt Island, FL, Judy (Herbie) Mixon, Auburn, GA; two sisters, Lucille Martin, Elizabeth City, NC, Maryann Needham, Waxahachie, TX; brother, Albert Hall, Redding, CA; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23, with Pastor Steve Warnock officiating. Burial will be in Tarrytown Cemetery.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
