Mabel I. Schaffer -- Services for Mabel Irene Schaffer, 87, of 1626 Roberts St., who died Friday in a Nampa nursing home, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today in Relyea Moruary by Douglas Burnett of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Nampa.
She was born Nov. 14, 1893, in Siloam Springs, Ark., where she was reared and educated. She married George Zittel in 1910 in Arkansas. They moved to Welsh, La., where they farmed from 1911 until 1924. They later moved to Idaho and farmed in the Marsing district. She divorced her husband. She later married Leslie Schaffer and continued to farm at Marsing. They moved to Boise in 1956. She was a member of the 14th Ward of the LDS Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Era Juker of Nampa, Mrs. Deone Salois of Philipsburg, Mont., and Mrs. Ruth Goiti of Meridian; three sons, Leon Zittel of Kellogg, James Zittel of Lake View, Ore., and Dale Zittel of Ramona, Calif.; five stepchildren; five brothers; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several stepgranchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters and two brothers.
Friends may call at Relyea Mortuary today from 9 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers will be James Salois, Tim Alderman, Gale Burley, Barry Cline, James Zittel and Jack Prater.
