Lois Ward Deerr of Plainfield died July 28. She was 88. Born November 3, 1920, she was the daughter of Ernest and Dora Worrell Ward. She married Bernard Deerr and he preceded her in death in August of 1998. Mrs. Deerr graduated from Avon High School and went to Central Normal College for two years. She was the secretary for Avon High School for 20 years. She was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church and Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Alpha Rho Chapter of which she was a past president. Survivors include a son, Tim (Amy) Deerr; a daughter, Tammy (Wade) Cook; and grandchildren, Roderick and Rachel Deerr and Haley Cook. Services are 11 a.m. today at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield with the Rev Karen Davaisher officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
