Agnes M. Whitaker age 61, of Canon City, Colorado and formerly of Palmyra died at 1:46 p.m., on May 18, 1994, at Columbia Regional Hospital in Columbia.

She was born on September 7, 1932, in Hannibal, to George F. and Lena B. Edwards Snyder.

She was married to M. Clayton Whitaker on April 18, 1954, in Palmyra. He died on May 3, 1991.

Survivors include one brother, George H. Snyder of Palmyra; three sisters, Eileen F. Poppe of Taylor Rosetta Calvery of Palmyra and Audrey Gossage of Paris; and her fiance Howard Lake of Philadelphia.

Mrs. Whitaker was formerly office manager for Crown Shoe Factory in Palmyra. She also had worked for Dr. Kenneth Leinweber in Palmyra and Wal-Mart in Canon City.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Palmyra, the Eagles Lodge and Moose Lodge,both in Hannibal, and the Monroe County Saddle Club. She was a past member of the Clover Leaf Saddle Club in Palmyra.
