Mrs. Mildred Katherine Cole Anguis, age 86, of 4 Piedmont Avenue, Rome, GA, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Anguis was born in Calhoun County, AL, on November 1, 1920, the daughter of the late C.L. and Bertha Lee Gohan Cole. She attended a Church of God in Alabama and retried from Trend Mills as a spinner. Mrs. Anguis loved to play cards and enjoyed watching people. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anguis is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Anguis.

Mrs. Anguis is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James (Fred) Shirley of Rome; two grandchildren, Stewart Bailey and his wife, Alicia of Rome and Erin Shirley of Rome; four great-grandchildren, Buffy Bailey, Cole Bailey, Lucas Abernathy, and Jazmyn Stansell all of Rome; and a brother, L.L. Cole of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside and interment services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. in the Rome Memorial Park with Jason Weeks officiating.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Saturday by 12:15 P.M.: Jerry Cole, Tommy Cole, Mike Grass, Joe Johnson, Bradley Cagle, and Bobby Tetheroe.

The Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Mildred Katherine Cole Anguis.
