Graveside services for Mrs. Birdie Swanson, 89, former Wyoming resident, were held at 11 o’clock Friday morning, in the Wyoming Cemetery with Cox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Swanson died Wednesday evening, Aug. 4 in the Bel Wood Nursing Home in Peoria, where she had resided the past six years.
The daughter of Dr. F.A. Sweetland and Effie Havenhill Sweetland, she was born Nov. 27, 1875 in Wyoming.
She attended Wyoming schools, was a former member of Wyoming Congregational Church and Wyoming Chapter No. 8 Order of Eastern Star.
She was married to Joe Swanson, Wyoming, who preceded her in death in Nov. 1920. She had resided in Peoria the past 25 years.
Surviving is one sister, Mrs. William (Mattie) Garside, Peoria and one brother, Fred Sweetland, Peoria and Casper, Wyoming.
Beside her husband, several sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
