She was stricken on Saturday, the cause of the trouble being unknown, as none of the other members of the family were affected at the time she was taken sick. Miss Gillis was graduated in June from the Harrodsburg high School. She was popular in her class and a most lovable girl. Her passing has brought grief to many. Her funeral was held at the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. C. W. Knight, and the burial was at Hebron cemetery in Anderson county, near the Mercer line. Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gillis, and two sisters, Misses Lucile and Margaret Gillis, all of this city.
