Son of Edwin Alvin and May H. (Little) Straw. His father was an expressman born in Pittsfield/Epsom, NH and was a resident of Thompson St. in Ashland. He married Nancy A. Brown, daughter of Wilfred and Stella (Bent) Brown of Ashland. He was 28 and the bride was 19.

Ashland — John C Straw, 79, passed away at Hanover Terrace Health Care Center, after a lengthy illness. He was the son of Edson A. Straw and May (Little) Straw. Mr Straw was an employee of the L.W. Packard Woolen Co. for many years, retiring several years ago. He was a member of the Dupuis-Cross Post American Legion and St Agnes Catholic Church. He was a life member of the N.R.A. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was the widower of Nancy Brown-Straw. Mr. Straw is survived by one daughter, Michelle Straw of Lebanon; two sons, Dean and Dale of Seattle, Washington; one brother, Richard Straw of Ashland.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Green Grove Cemetery, Ashland. Arrangements are by Dupuis Funeral Home, Ashland, N.H. The Record Enterprise, July 7, 1993.
