H/O MARTHA EMILY (EATON) 27 JAN 1881 IN ST. FRANCOIS CO., MO. MARRIAGE RECORD HAS 'CASSIVE C'. HANGED HIMSELF TWO WEEKS AFTER WIFE'S DEATH.Cassius,was a farmer, had black hair & dark brown eyes. With the death of his wife he chose not to go on without her, so two weeks after her death, he took his body with it's broken heart and hanged himself in the barn.

Cassius Sheppard hung himself on July 4th, 1901. He was distraught because his wife and a daughter were dying of typhoid fever. He was my 2nd great grandfather.
