LouEllan Keeney, age 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 23, 2010. Mrs. Keeney was a resident of Lake Charles and a native of Oberlin. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her family and friends were her life. She was a faithful member of Sale Street Baptist Church as well. Mrs. Keeney was a homemaker until the death of her husband. Following that, she enjoyed working as an activity director at Oak Park Care Center.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Elwyn "Spud" Keeney, her two brothers, Mike and Wilton Carrier, and her parents, Lee and Mandy Carrier. Mrs. Keeney will be missed very much by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her three daughters, Sherrie Beasley and husband, Alan of Moss Bluff, Sue Charles and husband, Lawrence of Lake Charles, and Sandra Wanamaker and husband, Kenny of Sulphur; one son, Randy Keeney of Lake Charles; two sisters, Betty Vest and husband, Bob and Elaine Manuel all of Oberlin; one brother, Dewith Carrier and wife, Kathy of Oberlin; ten grandchildren, Blake, Josh, and Alisha Beasley, Shane and Miranda Charles, Garrett, Cody, and Brandon Keeney, and Sean and Hannah Wanamaker; numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished; and her best friend of 50 years, Sarah Kingsley.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, May 28, 2010. Rev. Wade McAleece will officiate. Burial will follow in Durio Cemetery in Oberlin. Her visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Friday, May 28, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
