Henry Robinson Brother of Area Resident
Henry Robinson, 81, of Norwalk, died Friday, Aug. 8 in the Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

Born March 9, 1916 in Havana to Fred and Alice (Dale) Robinson, he moved to Fitchville as a young boy and to Olena in 1946.

He served in the Army with the 733rd Railway Operating Battalion and was sent to the 347th Engineers in Europe during World War II.

He was a millwright foremen in Huron for the former Eastern States Milling Company. He then was self-employed in excavating and had owned a mobile home park in Olena.

He was a member of the North Fairfield American Legion; North Fairfield F&AM, where he was past master twice and a 32nd degree Mason; and the North Fairfield Order of Eastern Star, where he was past matron three times.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Irene (Moore) Robinson; a daughter, Judith Miller of Norwalk; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Carol Robinson of Norwalk; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and sisters Anna Springer of Milan, Matilda Rose of Bellevue and June Souslin of North Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Robinson and Dorothy Jenkins.

Calling hours were held Saturday and Sunday at the Eastman Funeral Home in New London. Masonic Services were held Saturday night and a funeral service was held Sunday with Rev. Glenn Springer of the Bladensburg Church of Christ officiating.

Burial with military rites was in the Olena Cemetery.
