A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at. St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for Donna Pousson Hebert, 47, who died Monday, May 24, 2010 at her residence in Eunice.
She was a 1980 graduate of Iota High School. She was International Rice Festival Queen in 1980.
Fr. Joseph Tran, Pastor of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours at Geesey-Ferguson, Iota, on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Iota.
Survivors include her husband, Lynn Hebert of Eunice; two sons, Kyle Jo and Layne Hebert, both of Eunice; her father, Shelton Pousson of Egan; two sisters, Karen P. Leonards of Roberts Cove and Shelley P. Prejean of Scott; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Sensat Pousson; her maternal grandparents, Rufus and Laurence Sensat; her paternal grandparents, Irvin and Eva Pousson.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hebert, Joey Hebert, Jerry Leonards, Scotty Prejean, John Leonards and Jake Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert McManus, William Leger, Garrett Ortego, Katelyn Ortego, Ashlyn Ortego, and Philip Leonards.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Francis School Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 870, Iota, LA 70543.
