Bernard Russell Plakke, 62, of Mason, a native of Holland, died Saturday in Henry Ford Hospital following a lingering illness.
A graduate of Beechwood School in Holland, he had lived in Mason for the past 25 years, where he was a parts manager fort he A.L. Rice Chevrolet there until the past few years when he was employed at Wyeth Laboratories.
Surviving are his wife,, the former Geneva Steinfort; two sons, Ronald K. in Germany and Terry G. of Missoula, Mont.; two daughters, Mrs. Judith G. Leach of Midland and Mrs. Lynne E. Campbell of Lansing; six grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Plakke of Holland; a brother, Clifford, also of Holland and two sisters, Mrs. Alam Baker of Holland and Mrs. Marjory Smith of Stanwood.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Notier-Ver Lee Langeland Chapel with Rev. Keith L. Hayes officitaing, Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Relatives and friends may meet the family at the chapel tonight from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
