GOLDTHWAITE-- Gertrude Yarborough 92, died Wednesday, May 25, 2010. Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Goldthwaite. Interment will follow in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite.

Gertrude Elizabeth Johnson Yarborough When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure to both hold and pass on. Gertrude Yarborough, 92, of Goldthwaite TX passed from this life to the next on May 25, 2010. Gertrude was born on February 17, 1918 in San Saba, TX to Henry Bascomb Johnson and Gertrude (Eiler) Johnson. She eloped and married her childhood sweetheart and love of her life Harold Yarborough on July 19, 1941 in Brownwood, Texas. They lived in Goldthwaite all their married life. She and Harold worked together as partners in Yarborough's clothing store until their retirement. Gertrude was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Goldthwaite. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Campbell and Carl of Austin, TX; and her son, Owen Bascomb Yarborough of Goldthwaite, TX; grandchildren, Keith Campbell and Susan of Round Rock, TX, Chase Yarborough and Sarah of Stephenville, TX, Renae Devers of Troy, TX, James Lee Freeman and Liz of Cedar Park, TX, and Angela Freeman and Roland of Cedar Park, TX; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Hannah Campbell, Jeremy Holmsley and Jessi Watson, Matt and Ellie Freeman; great-great granddaughter, Zoe Watson; and great-grandson to-be, Jack Bascomb Yarborough. We will all miss her. Gertrude is predeceased by her husband, Harold Yarborough, her parents and four siblings, Paul, Annagene, Joe Billie, and Worth Johnson. Service will be held in the First United Methodist Church in Goldthwaite, TX on May 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in the Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery.
