Age 84, of Bridgeville, passed on Mon., April 17, 2006. Born January 8, 1922 in the Meadowlands, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Tomsic) Blazic. In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her siblings, Albenia Filosi, Mero Blazic, Mary Nitchell, Frances Lorenzi and Joseph Blazic. Surviving are her beloved husband of 60 years, George S. Abood, a daughter, Georganne Wagner (John H.), two granddaughters, Georganne Wagner and Jaclyn Erickson (Steve), two sisters, Agnes Gafric and Marjorie Ondrek. A member of St. George Syrian Orthodox Church, an avid softball player, she spent a lot of time on the ball fields as a member of the Cecil Women's Softball Team. She was a pitcher and held winning records of 25-2. She also pitched for the Duquesne Girls of Pittsburgh and on September 9, 1939, her team played in the 1939 World's Fair in New York at the Madison Square Garden. Friends received Wednesday, 12-9:30pm, BOGAN-WOLF FUNERAL HOME, 430 Washington Ave., Bridgeville. A Trisagon Service at 8:45pm Wednesday, Trisagon Service at 1 pm in the funeral home Thursday followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm at St. George Syrian Orthodox Church in Bridgeville. Interment to follow at St. George Syrian Orthodox Cemetery.
