CHICAGO, Ill./ETTRICK, Wis. - Ellen Ekern, 94, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Harmony Nursing Home, Chicago.
She was born Oct. 9, 1911, to Caroline (Larson) McWain Ekern and Julius Ekern in Ettrick. She attended grade and high school in Ettrick and Galesville. She later resided in Racine and Chicago.
Her parents preceded her in death as did
two brothers,
1. Roy C Ekern
2. Willie Ekern;
two sisters,
3. Gertie (McWain) Evenson Haag
4. Esther Ekern Heineck of Melrose.
Survivors include nephews and nieces, Helen, Florence, Wis., James, Wis., Carol of, Ariz., Donna of Ga., Shirley, Wis., and Paul of, Ill.
She will be laid to rest at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha, Wis. near her brother Willie Ekern.
Note: Gertie McWain Evenson Haag was technicall her half sister
