The surname of GLAD was used for both Niels and Nielsine, although Nancy, wife at death, did not use it on his death certificate.

Utah Death Certificate
To my knowledge and hearing, Niels Peter Andersen never used the GLAD surname. He found the name connected to earlier family records on a trip back to Denmark. When he returned, he urged all his children to legally change their surname to GLAD. One son, Ephriam, did use the GLAD surname for military service during WWI, but went back to ANDERSEN when he went into the cleaning and dying business in Salt Lake City.
