Certificate: 025730 Rites for Floyd O. Pace. Floyd O. Pace, 43, of 401 S. Madison Ave., Monore, died June 21 in Emory University Hospital, where he had been confined since being injured in a lumber accident June 2. Funeral services were held Monday at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Miller, Rev. Emmett Dalton, and Rev. Dennis Keesler officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl Barnett, Joe Walker, Gene Evans, A.P. Poe, Howard Wilbanks, and Douglas Stephens. Williams-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Pace was born June 2, 1926, in Newton County and was the son of the late Jim Pace. He was employed by W.B. Holder Pulpwood Co.. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Ethel Barnett Pace of Monroe; sisters Mrs. Pearlie Mae Lumsden of Monroe; Mrs. Reba Denney of Covington; brothers, Horace Pace and Clifford Pace both of Monroe, and J.W. Pace of Statham. From Monroe newspaper. Corrected the spelling of the names. His injuries were caused by a tree falling on his back. He grew up working as a farmer until after his father died.
