Mr. Cecil Lamar Gleaton Sr., 77, of 1555 Hillcrest Ave. died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at home. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Baptist Church, withthe Rev. Dale Roach officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park. A native of Leary, Ga., Mr. Gleaton was a son of the late James D. Gleaton and Lula Mason Gleaton. He was a retired security guard for Springs Industries and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, trustee and bus driver. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was a Navy veteran of Word War II. Surviving are his wife, Frances Robertson Gleaton; three sons, Cecil Gleaton Jr. and Dennis Gleaton, both of Lancaster and Jeffrey Gleaton of the home; three daughters, Sandra Catoe of Kershaw, Wanda Armstrong of Lancaster and Carol Luddy of Charlotte; his brother, Carl Gleaton of Dowell, Ill.; his sister, Ione Sheffield of Leary, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.
