OBITUARY
A.J. Vaughan Services for A.J. Vaughan, an Arlington resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bowen Road Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Parkdale Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Moore Funeral Home Bowen Road Chapel.

Mr. Vaughan died Monday in Arlington. He was 72.

Born Aug. 4, 1925, in Sanger, he worked for the telephone company for 38 years. He was a member of the Forest Hill United Methodist Church. He also served in the U.S. Naval Air Corps from 1943 to 1946.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Frances Vaughan; sons, Jack Vaughan of Burleson and Jim Vaughan of Cleburne; stepdaughters, Shirley Goerdel of Llano and Pamela Weaver of Arlington; sister, JoAnn Johnson of Denton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
