A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born Jan. 15, 1940, the son of the late Harry and Delores Carlson Abbott Jr.
He was a 1958 graduate of Jamestown High School.
He was employed by the City of Jamestown Board of Public Utilities as a lineman. He also worked as a bartender at various places including Ira Lou Spring Post149 American Legion, War Vets Recreation and Nic-L-Inn Restaurant.
He will be remembered as a very outgoing, good-natured man with a wonderful sense of humor.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Genco Abbott; three daughters: Kim (Doug) Jordan, Dee (Jim) Frank and Jean (Dan) Harnish; a son, Allan B. Abbott, Jr.; a sister, Sandra (Sandy) Galati; eight grandchildren: Jason (Leigh) Jordan, Jessica (Dave) Klemens, Dereck Frank, Ericka (Kelly) Carpenter, Daniel Harnish, Nicholas Harnish, Alyssa and Brianna Abbott; and one great-grandchild Riley Carpenter.
