Died near Cold Bay, Alaska, in the crash of a transport plane in which Lt. Colonel Davison was a passenger. The C-47 hit a pinnacle while coming down through an overcast for a landing. Before being called to active duty immediately after the Pearl Harbor attack, he was a teacher at Lincoln Union HS (Calif.) where he taught bookkeeping, typing, and commercial English as well as boys' physical education. He was awarded the Legion of Merit posthumously.
