Mrs. Howard Persons, the former Kathryn Gibbard of Salem, died at her home in Mt. Vernon, Wash., Thursday night, as a result of an illness of several years' duration. She was 38 years old.
Mrs. Persons was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Gibbard of Salem. Her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Person, also reside in the capital.
Mr. Gibbard went north Friday morning and will return with the family and the body on Sunday. Plans are for a funeral in Mt. Vernon with short services and burial at Belcrest Memorial park in Salem on Monday. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Clough-Barrick company.
Mrs. Persons was graduated from Salem high school in 1920 and attended Oregon State college where she was affiliated with Delta Zeta. She is survived by her husband, tow daughters, Melissa and Anne, and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth Manning of Salem.
