Faith Eliza Treen (1880-1965) was the daughter of the Reverend John William Treen (1840-1921) and Mary Ann (Bell) Treen (1843-1888). Following John and Mary Ann's marriage on August 24, 1863 in London England, the couple settled in John's hometown in Rugby, Warwickshire, England. Faith Eliza was born on May 5, 1880 in Toronto, Canada; the tenth of twelve children. Sometime between May 1873 and November 1875, the family emigrated from England to Toronto, where they remained until about 1885. They then relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
