Mrs. Marie Gilbert, aged 74, 211 East Masterson Avenue, died Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at her home after an illness of about two months of complications. She was the wife of A. L. Gilbert, who is district freight agent for the Wabash Railroad. Mrs. Gilbert was born and reared at White House, O. She had lived for 23 years in Attica before coming to Fort Wayne in 1907 to make her home here. She had been married to 57 years.
Mrs. Gilbert was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church and the Plymouth Guild. Surviving besides the husband are a son, Dale Gilbert, of Toledo, O.; a daughter, Mrs. H. R. DeVol, of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Henrietta Fowler, of San Gabriel, Calif.; a brother, Lyman Snyder, of Toledo, and two grandchildren.
