Dorothy Frances (Agor) Matuschak, born September 29, 1919, passed away April 29, 2009. She was born to Benn Agor and Grace E. (Prater) Agor Foresman in Seattle, Washington. Dorothy was descended from pioneer Yakima and Ellensburg, Washington families. She attended Yakima schools and graduated from Yakima High School. She attended the University of Washington, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. She graduated with a degree in Speech & Communication.
Dorothy met and then married Albert V. Matuschak on November 15, 1941. They became the parents of twin boys, James and Stephen Matuschak. Dorothy worked in real estate and worked with her brother in law, "Mac" McGee for several years. She loved her hobby of genealogy and devoted hours to it. She leaves us with volumes of her work. She loved her social groups with family and her sorority sisters in Seattle.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Benn Agor, in 2000, and her sister Jane McGee, in 2006. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Albert V. Matuschak; and two sons and daughter-in-laws, James B. and Carol Matuschak and Stephen J. and Susan Matuschak. Her four grandchildren are Stephenie (Adam) Brink, Sean (Lorraine) Matuschak, David Matuschak and Julianne Matuschak. She is also survived by two nephews and wives, Neil and Nancy McGee and Barry and Diane McGee.
The funeral will be held at Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora Avenue, Seattle, WA at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2009. A social time will follow the service with the burial after the social. An online guest book may be signed at www.washelli.com.
