Daughter of Johann Kross and Maria Sander, Minnie Kross married Gustav Meyer at St Martini Lutheran Church, Chicago, Illinois, on June 27, 1891. They are buried together in Bethania Cemetery.

Minnie is from Pommern, Deutchland, which was known as Pommerania, a state in the First Reich of Germany in 1892. It is north of a Preussen, which is another state, also in Germany,now known as Prussia. Now both are in Poland. Gustav Meyer was born in Westphalia, Germany, which is known as Westfalen. This is much further West and has such towns as Dortmund and Munster in it.
