Willard H. Hartung was born in Crawford County, Missouri, near Steelville, Missouri, in April of 1938 to Willard and Oma (Richardson) Hartung and passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri at the age of 69 years.

He was a graduate of Bourbon High School, after which he was inducted into the U.S. Air Force where he honorably discharged. He worked for a time at the Bourbon Ready Mix and later became a truck driver through Teamsters Local No. 600. After a time he became an owner/operator of his own trucking company and later took a disability retirement.

September 7, 1968 he was united in marriage to Barbara McKee in Overland, Missouri and to this union three sons were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Willard Hamilton Hartung in infancy; a brother, Martin Hartung and a sister, Joan Summers.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jason Hartung of Manchester, Missouri and Jacob Hartung of Gray Summit, Missouri; three brothers, Ernie Hartung of Bourbon, Missouri, Fred Hartung of Sullivan, Missouri and Paul Hartung of Warrenton, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from 4:30-8 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home Chapel in Bourbon, Missouri and on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from 9-11 a.m. at Bray's Advent Christian Church in Iberia, Missouri.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from Bray's Ad-vent Christian Church in Iberia, Missouri with Pastor Michael Gardener officiating. Interment was in the Union Cemetery, Iberia, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
