Barbara Lorraine Pulscher, 80, of Sioux City, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Westwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sioux City.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church in Sioux City, with Rev. Marty Young officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden, Iowa. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. The Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden is assisting the family. The family prefers memorials to be directed to the First Christian Church.

Barbara Lorraine Pulscher was born December 16, 1928 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Benjamin and Gladys (Hough) Lawrence. She attended and graduated from Sioux City Central High School

Barbara married Private Harold Pulscher July 1, 1951 at the First Christian Church in Sioux City. They made their home in Sioux City from 1953 to 1965, when they moved to Denver, Colorado. Barb was employed as directorate of retired pay operations at United States Air Force finance center, where she received a number of awards for her outstanding service from 1973 to 1988. The couple returned to Sioux City in 1993.

She was a 50 year plus member of the Isis Chapter Order of Eastern Star and a 50 year plus member of the First Christian Church in Sioux City where she sang in the choir.

Barb is survived by her husband, Harold; a brother, John Lawrence and wife Linda of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Ruth Lang and husband Merle of Sioux City and Dorothy Keasey and husband Wallace of Montrose, Colorado.
Barb was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Mosher and her husband Sidney of Sioux City.
