Leo Elwood Grimsley, 90 of Gautier, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010 in Gautier. He was born March 22, 1920 in Jackson County. Mr. Grimsley was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired millwright from Corning Glass and enjoyed fishing, oystering and working in his garden. He was a member of Skylark Baptist Church in Gautier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ferette & Nita Ladnier Grimsley; brothers, James Ira Grimsley and Ramos Webb; sisters, Mamie Rowell and Lucille Taylor; and nephews, Gary Rowell and Orrey Rowell.

Mr. Grimsley is survived by his wife, Joan Grimsley of Gautier; sons, Randy Grimsley of Gautier and Leo Elwood Grimsley, Jr. and wife Gail of Fountainbleau; daughters, Loretta McDaniel of Ocean Springs and Lynn Free and husband Mike of Mobile, Alabama; special friends, Reuben Lyons and Wilburn & Hazel Brown, all of Gautier; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from Skylark Baptist Church in Gautier with Rev. H.C. Lewallen officiating. Friends may call at the church after 1:30pm. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Gautier. Pallbearers will be Bobby Gibson, James Taylor, Robert Webb, Kenny Rowell, Ernie Reindeau and Waylon Grimsley. Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, Mississippi.
