Mrs. Mathias, wife of the late Jack Mathias, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born Sept. 28, 1925 in Pacolet, she was a daughter of the late William W. Covil and Ola D. Dillard. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Farrow Beauty School and attended Lander College. She was co-founder of Mathias Sandwich Shop and worked there until her retirement. After retirement, she pursued her love of flowers and floral design by working at Gantners Florist and The Flower Cart. She was a former member of Ascension Lutheran Church for many years and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
