Mrs. Alice Throckmorton Pollock, 85, wife of J. Bayard Pollock, of 295 Bridge street, Waynesburg, died Friday, Oct. 11, 1957 after an illness of three years.

Member of a well kown Greene County family she was born February 12, 1872 in Center Township, a daughter of E. Reed Throckmorton and Samantha John Hill Throckmorton, and spent all her life in Greene County. Her early life was spent on a farm in Center Township but since her marriage Oct. 16, 1901 to J. Bayard Pollock she had lived in Waynesburg. She attended Waynesburg College and taught school prior to her marriage. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg and was a charter member and past worthy matron of Emerald Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

Besides her husband she leaves three daughters and one son, Mrs. Allen (Josephine) Hill of Waynesburg, Mrs. Bracket Ayers of Lake Worth, Fla., Mrs. E. C. Patterson of Ann Arbor, Mich., and John B. Pollock, Jr., of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one brother, T. Howard Throckmorton of Mercer, R. D.
