Mrs. Bessie Ella Gartman, 81, of 1010 Glenn Street, widow of Henry L. Gartman, died at 7:30 p. m. Tuesday at Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Gartman was a lifelong resident of Lexington County, daughter of the late James Alford Keisler and Anna Laura Crout. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lila Hook and Mrs. T. L. (Mattie) Dye of West Columbia; three sons, H.Elton and James A. Gartman of West Columbia, and Herman L. Gartman of Dearborn, Mich.; three brothers, Manuel and Jesse Keisler of Gilbert and John Crout Keisler of Lexington; four half-brothers, Archie Keisler of Lexington, and Silas, Callie and Olin Keisler of Gilbert of Gilbert; one sister, Mrs. Emma Keisler of Lexington, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Ellie Roof and Miss Estelle Keisler of Gilbert. Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Ella Gartman will be held at 3 p. m.
Friday in Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Mr. Zeigler assisted by Rev. J. Virgil Long. Interment will be in the Gibson Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Dye, 1224 E. Avenue, West Columbia. Mrs. Gartman, 81, of 1010 Sr. widow of Henry L. Gartman, died Tuesday in Baptist Hospital.
