Benjamin F. Gartman, 77, of 1724 Crapps Ave., West Columbia, died Monday morning at the Columbia Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Gartman, a retired textile worker, was born in Saluda County, a son of the late James Melvin and Rose Ann Shull Gartman. Survivors inlclude a number of neices and nephews. Funeral services will be held today at 5 p.m. from the chapel of the Sale Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. H. A. Dunlap. Interment will follow in the Gibson Cemetery.
