He was born August 12 1954 in Princeton West Virginia and was a son of Andrew Dolphus and Ruby Geraldine Alderson Shortt of Roanoke Virginia.

He was an employee of Kroger bakery and a Navy vet.

Preceding him in death was his grandfather--George Shortt and step-grandfather John Andrew Clifton.

Grandmother--Maycel Faye Wheeler Allen Alderson Hogan Bell and grandfather--Ira I. Alderson.

One uncle--Ira James Alderson.

Several half-uncles and half-aunts.

Survivors besides his parents are his wife--Pamela Winesett Shortt.

One son--Benjamin Eugene Shortt.

One brother--Michael Mike Andrew Shortt and wife Vickie of Roanoke Virginia.

Two sisters--Shelia Faye Shortt Smith and husband Billy and Sharon Kaye Shortt Manning Spencer and husband Noel.
