Luther J. Alexander of Dixon was born in Hancock, Missouri on September 17, 1909 the son of Dan and Ollie Dake Alexander and passed away in his home on Saturday, December 30, 199S. He had attained the age of 86 years. He was united in marriage to Caroline Shelton and unto this union five sons and three daughters were born. Luther is survived by his wife Caroline of the home; two sons, Dariel and Jack Alexander of Dixon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Johnny Aaron, Linda and Bob Overshon and Angie and Danny Baker all of Dixon; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Victor and Cornelia Alexander and Pete and Mary Alexander of Dixon and Otto and Minnie Alexander of Hallsville; one sister Electa Boucher of Dixon; two daughters-in-law, Maxine and Patsy Alexander of Dixon; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three sons, Leland, Buel and Hurschall, two daughter-in-laws, Pam and Mary Alexander, one great grandson Jacob, two infant brothers and two sisters, Goldie and Myrtle. He was baptized in 1951 and a member of the Church of Christ in Dixon. He was a long time member of the Dixon Saddle Club and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Home in Dixon on Monday, January 1, 1996 at 11:00 p.m. with Ministers Charles Pitts and Doug Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery and serving as his pallbearers were Terry Baker, Brandon Overshon, Shawn Alexander, Jimmy Warman, Jeremy Robertson and Scot Mathenia. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Horn, Nathan Warman, Josh Horn, and Randy Kent.
