HEART ATTACK FATAL TO ENGINEER
Thomas Ball Dies When Stricken at Work at Laundry

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon in the United Brethren church with Rev. O.E. Knapp officiating for Thomas R. Ball, 68, who passed away Wednesday following a heart attack. Mr. Ball, an engineer in the Ideal Laundry was taken suddenly ill while on duty and was rushed to the Municipal hospital in Fink’s ambulance where he died a few minutes after arriving there. He suffered a light stroke several years ago which left him in ill health.

He had been an engineer in the Laundry for two and a half years and was a former engineer on the New Castle-div. of the Baltimore & Ohio railroad and of the city power house. He was a member of the B. of L.E. and of the I.U.O.E. and of the Centerton Methodist church. He was born at Centerton and lived in this vicinity all his life. He had made his home with his sister, Mrs. T.W. Cross on Washington-st for over thirty years.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Cross and Mrs. J.C. Sheron, Minneapolis, Minn., and one brother, Milo Ball of Steuben. Burial was in the Centerton cemetery.

OBITUARY
Thomas H. Ball, son of the late Frank and Hannah Ball, was born in Centerton, Ohio, October 16, 1863. He passed away at the Municipal Hospital in Willard, December 23, 1931, at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 7 days.

In early life Mr. Ball was in the employ of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, then for some time as stationary engineer for the Beelman Lumber Company, then as engineer for the Willard power plant until he was taken ill October 31, 1924.

For the past two years he has been in the employ of the Ideal Laundry Co. in Willard.

Mr. Ball was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. There remains one brother, Milo Ball of Steuben, two sisters, Mrs. J.C. Sheron of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. T.W. Cross of Willard with whom he had made his home for many years.

In earlier life Mr. Ball was a member of the Centerton Methodist church. He was a kind friend, a loving and upright brother and a highly respected citizen.
