Marjorie L. Mouw, 88, of Amarillo, died Thursday, March 22, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Mark Zimmerman, senior adult minister of Paramount Terrace Christian, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Restlawn Cemetery at Liberal, Kan. Mrs. Mouw was born in Arlington, Kan. She moved to Texline in 1929 and to Amarillo in 1935. She was a waitress and a dental assistant in Amarillo until she married Neal W. Mouw. They relocated to Sisseton, S.D. After her husband's death in 1984, she moved back to Amarillo. Survivors include a stepson, James W. Mouw of Salem, S.C.; three brothers, Turner Black of Blackwell, Okla., Ralph Black of Liberal, Kan., and Rodney Black of Silver City, N.M.; a sister, Mary Ellen Cook of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Lt. Col. Mark W. Mouw, Air Force, of Goldsboro, N.C., and Vicki T. Mouw of Decatur, Ga.; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews including, a niece and caregiver, Karen Rogers Heavin of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to Bivins Memorial Nursing Home, 1001 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106. The family will be at 6802 Montague Drive. Amarillo Daily News, March 23, 2001
