Elsie was employed for 10 years by the Montgomery Ward Company and as department manager for 23 years at the J.L. Hudson Company.
As a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Calumet, she was a participant in the choir, Women's Fellowship, quilting circle, and chaired many committees. She was a lifetime member of the Keweenaw Historical Society and the American Red Cross. Elsie also worked on the election board for many years.
Surviving are her daughter, Arlene (Gene) Morris, her son, the Honorable Robert P.M. Nordstrom; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Nilo and Henry; and four sisters, Emma Moilanen, Elmie Nelson, Sylvia Lundin and Sally Danis are deceased.
